One of our 2012 goals here at AutoModia is to branch out and cover different events, feature different types of cars, and bring in new elements to the website. When Kyle from “Drag for Diabetes” called me and asked if I would come and cover his January 2012 event I jumped at the chance.
Drag for Diabetes is a great mix of damn near every automotive culture you can imagine. There were rat rods, hot rods, lowriders, mini trucks, classics, imports, hell…there was even a few trains (lol). Everything from fairly stock cars to full magazine/SEMA style builds came out to support this awesome cause.
I really did forget how far Pearland was from the AutoModia headquarters out in Katy so it was a good drive down there. Then Kyle asked me to park my Scion xB somewhere off-road. Off-road…in an xB (lol). Thank sweet baby Jesus that the ground had most dried from the downpour we had only a few days prior.
All in all the guys at Drag for Diabetes put on a great show. Lots of money was raised to donate to a very worthy cause and everyone was having a great time. I can’t wait for next time!
